Eighteen riders, ranging in age from 5 to adults competed in the Hawaii Island Dressage and Eventing Association show April 9 at the Panaewa Equestrian Center.
There were numerous classes that included lead line for the keiki and dressage and field jumping for the young and older adults. The weather was perfect for the event with a clear blue sky, cool breeze and great footing for the horses.
Terri Richards, wife of County Councilman Tim Richards, was the judge for the day. Erin Matsui, president of the association, and her volunteers put together the show with all its many facets: setup, take down, timekeeping, scorekeeping, announcing and more.
A great time was had by all the competitors, their families, friends and support crews.
