Katsuki Kubo, 89, of Hilo died April 9 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pahoa, he was a retired teacher at Keaau Middle School, former macadamia nut farmer and member of University Heights Kumiai. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Jane Kubo of Hilo; sons, Bryce Kubo of Keaau and Earl (Jody) Kubo of Honolulu; daughter, Janelle Kubo of Honolulu; sister, Namie Kurihara of Honolulu; sisters-in-law, Hisayo Kubo of Pahoa and Marylei Kubo of Honolulu; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The late Benjamin Naboa Notario was survived by, among others, companion, Bibiana Felipe of Naalehu; son, Brian Notario of Wisconsin; daughter, Rhoda (Joaquin) Favela of Honolulu; sister, Rosario Nivera of Honolulu.
