Waiakea’s Kaley Saludares led the BIIF contingent Monday in the first round of the HHSAA girls golf championships, shooting a 79 at Kaanapali Resort on Maui.
The junior was four shots behind the co-leaders, Iolani’s Kamie Hamada and Maui High’s Thereese Guzman.
Waiakea’s Kalyn Uchida shot an 81, Mari Ebersole was at 89, Tia Kualii and Jillian Mitsuda shot 90s and Tori Hironaga turned in a 105.
The Warriors were tied for fourth in the team race at 249, 17 strokes behind first-place Iolani.
Also from the BIIF, Kamehameha’s Chloe Waters shot a 99, Keaau’s Anela Dalton was at 104 and Hilo’s Sunny Sukai came in at 113.
The final round is Tuesday.
