Ronald “Ron” Allen Embree, 67, of Keaau died May 11 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Seattle, he was retired laborer for Local 242. Private services at a later date. Survived by wife, Nani Embree; daughter, Rebecca Embree; sons, Benjamin Embree and Noah Embree; hanai son, Gabe Lubbess; a sister and two brothers. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

John “Sir” Rodney Kitchen, 76, of Waimea died May 2 at home. Born in Port Said, Egypt, he was a London bobby, commercial fisherman, construction contractor, restaurant owner and gourmet cook, sailor and Renaissance man fluent in five languages. Celebration of life 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at Ulu La‘au (Waimea Nature Park). No flowers. Memorial donations to North Hawaii Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association of Hawaii. Yaeko Nakanishi, 90, of Hilo, formerly of Honolulu, died May 15 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hiroshima, Japan, she was a member of Pomaikai Senior Center. Private services on Oahu. Donald David Pacheco, 66, of Keaau died April 19 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran.
