The Hawaii School Nutrition Association’s statewide 2017 Spring Conference took place recently at the Kilauea Military Camp in Volcano.
It was the first time in decades the conference was hosted on Hawaii Island. About 80 people attended.
“It was an awesome turnout,” said the local SNA chapter’s president-elect Peggy Kealoha. “There was a lot of positive energy. Everyone was into learning new information.”
The Hawaii School Nutrition Association is the state chapter of a longstanding nonprofit that represents about 57,000 child nutrition employees nationally.
Kealoha said she hopes to increase membership in the local chapter of the organization and bolster attendance at conferences around the country.
