The Hilo Woman’s Club, a community service organization, recently inducted new officers and board members during a ceremony at the Hilo Yacht Club.
Assuming leadership posts for 2017-18 are president Jennifer Tanouye, vice president Beverly Heikes, recording secretary Diane Czerwonka, corresponding secretary Dorothy Williams and treasurer Jane Boyd. Club member Helen Hemmes presided.
The Hilo Woman’s Club has served those living in East Hawaii for the past 96 years. From establishing parks and creating what is today’s Hilo branch of the Humane Society, to supporting higher education via scholarships and everything in between, the women are dedicated to helping make the community a better place.
“Under the direction of president Jennifer Tanouye, the club looks forward to another year of doing what they do best: supporting the arts, education and families since 1921,” said outgoing president Jan Kuester.
The club is located at 7 Lele St. For more information about club membership or service projects, call 935-9838 or visit www.hilowomansclub.org.
