Hilo High class of 1967 to reunite

The Hilo High School class of 1967 will gather during the week of Oct. 21-29 in Hilo and Kona for its 50th reunion.

Big Island Baha’is to observe holy day

Baha’is of Hawaii Island will gather at 11:30 a.m. July 9 at Mohouli Park pavilion in Hilo to remember Bab, the herald of the Baha’i faith, who was executed in 1850 by command of the government of Persia, now known as Iran.

The public is invited to attend the observance. Refreshments will be served.

Annual fundraiser luau slated July 15

Kamehameha Schools Alumni Association-East Hawai‘i Region is hosting its eighth annual college scholarship fundraiser luau from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 15 at the Ha‘aeamahi dining hall on the Keaau campus.

There will be entertainment, a silent auction, ono Hawaiian food and other events. Proceeds from the luau will provide scholarships for Hawaiian students attending the University of Hawaii at Hilo or Hawaii Community College.

Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased by contacting Roy Alameida at 756-4574 or Nate Chang at 895-1390.

Anyone interested in attending must order tickets by Thursday (July 6).

Donations also will be accepted.
