U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Wincel Joyce A. Ballesteros and U.S. Air Force Airman Michael Kevin O. Tenorio graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio.
The airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Ballesteros earned distinction as an honor graduate. She is the daughter of Celia A. and Edwin A. Ballesteros and sister of Edlyn B. Pascua and Alvin Wayne A. Ballesteros, all of Hilo.
Ballesteros is a 2015 graduate of Hilo High School.
Tenorio is a 2016 graduate of Keaau High School.
