Larry Takanori Inouye, 89, of Waimea died June 30 at home. Born in Waimea, he was a retired U.S. Army master sergeant who served in the Korean and Vietnam wars, a retired maintenance engineer at Tripler Army Medical Center and maintenance worker at the former Royal Waikoloan Hotel. Services held. Survived by wife, Amy Inouye of Waimea; son, Larry Inouye Jr. of Wahiawa, Oahu; daughters, Valerie (Roger Salazar) Inouye and Michele (Dennis) Tanaka of Waimea; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. Arleen Akie Kitagawa, 60, of Hilo, formerly of Honolulu, died July 1 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center.
