Police identified the man arrested in connection with the Thursday afternoon theft of a privately-owned ambulance from the emergency room entrance to Hilo Medical Center as 24-year-old Maksim Stasyuk of Hilo.
He was booked on suspicion of first-degree theft and third-degree criminal property damage and is being held at the Hilo cellblock while detectives continue to investigate.
