John L. Gardner, 91, of Willow Street, Pa., formerly of Kailua-Kona, died July 22. Born in Santa Rosa, Calif., he was a retired installer for the former Western Electric Co., U.S. Navy World War II veteran, Civil Air Patrol pilot, ham radio operator who set up radio communications for Hawaii Red Cross during emergencies and disasters, and was active with Full Gospel Men’s Fellowship and Youth With A Mission. Graveside committal services with military honors at noon Friday (Aug. 4) at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona. No flowers.
