The U.S. Army Garrison at Pohakuloa Training Area is asking motorists to drive with extra caution Friday and Saturday to accommodate military vehicles.
The vehicles will leave Hilo every 45 minutes starting at 8 a.m. Friday, heading toward PTA on Saddle Road.
They’ll return to Hilo starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Typically, such transport is done in military convoys, with escorts to alert other drivers. However, in this instance each pair of vehicles will travel independently.
