Jeffrey M. Melrose, 65, of Hilo died July 25 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Raised in Makawao, Maui, he was a land manager and planner for large land owners, including Kamehameha Schools and Amfac Hawaii, owner of the firm Island Planning, geography lecturer at University of Hawaii at Hilo, authored Statewide Agriculture Land Use Baseline 2015 and was the past president of Kuikahi Mediation Center, Hilo Downtown Improvement Association, and Hawaii Island Chamber Of Commerce.
