Gordon Wayne Costa, 59, of Hilo died Aug. 8 at home. He was born in Hilo. Survived by mother, Geraldine L. Costa; brothers, Herman (Debra-Ann Kikau) Costa Jr., Reginald Costa and Ronnie Lee Costa of Hilo; sister, Bernadette (Leo Campbell Jr.) Costa of Mountain View; nieces and nephews. Patrick B. Salvador, 55, of Naalehu died July 22 at home. Born in the Philippines, he was a laborer for Mac Farms of Hawaii. Visitation 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 19) at Naalehu Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 95-5558 Mamalahoa Highway. Funeral mass at 10 a.m. Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Naalehu Cemetery. Survived by wife, Milagros Salvador of Naalehu; son, Mark Salvador of Naalehu; daughters, May Ann (Alberto Salmo) Salvador of Naalehu and Febelyn Salvador of Kona; brother, Alfredo (Levanda) Salvador Jr. of Kona; sisters, Narcisa (Richard) Pedrena of San Diego, Bernadette (Jay) Hashimoto of Hilo and Paz (Julito Balais) Salvador of Honolulu; sister-in-law, Evangeline Salvador of Maui; two grandchildren; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Guillermo Alvarez Tolentino Sr., 91, of Hilo died Aug. 9 at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation &Nursing Center. Born in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, the Philippines, he was a retired county landscaper, sugar plantation chemist, grocer, butcher, papaya farmer, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ainaola and Waikahi wards, ordinance worker for the Kona LDS temple, hunter, fisherman and gardener. Visitation 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 19) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hilo Stake Center, 1373 Kilauea Ave. Service at noon. Casual attire; flowers welcomed. Burial at Alae Cemetery, Mormon section. Survived by wife, Lijjak “Jackie” Tolentino of Hilo; daughters, Stephanie (Clyde) Imaizumi and Audrey (Weyland) Galinato of Hilo, Cynthia Whitney of Buellton, Calif., Mia (Ron) Hovind of Newark, Calif., Roxanne Tolentino of Puna, Lilia Belij of Pahoa and Alice (Carlos) Tolentino of Keaau; sons, Phillip Tolentino of Molokai, Will (Monalisa) Tolentino of Bountiful, Utah, Guillermo Tolentino Jr. and Santos Tolentino of Keaau; hanai son, Ricky (Raureti) Raymond of Kwajalein, Marshall Islands; 29 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
