Born in Pepeekeo, she was a retired county account clerk and member of St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Kapaau, Kohala Senior Citizens and Na Kupuna O Kohala Halau. Services held. Survived by husband, James Hanano of Kapaau; sons, Jason (Stephanie) Hanano of Hawi and Keven (Cynthia) Hanano of Lihue, Kauai; daughters, Jennifer (John) Colson of Kula, Maui, and Kaky (Geoy) Purdy of Waimea; brother, Itsuji “Buster” Shimizu of Honolulu; sister, Nancy Nelson of Midland, Mich.; sister-in-law, Helen Shimizu of Hilo; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
