Clarion “Clarence” “Larry” Bidal, 82, of Pahoa died Aug. 1 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Opihikao, he was a retired member of the Hilo International Airport crash, fire and rescue crew, U.S. Marine Corps and Hawaii Army National Guard veteran and member of Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pepeekeo Sportsman Club, Disabled American Veterans and Pahoa Higashi Machi Kumiai. Visitation 4-5 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 23) at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Wake service at 5 p.m. All-night vigil to follow at family home in Pahoa. Visitation again 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 24) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Prayer service at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
