Hawaii County crews will upgrade the traffic signals at Kilauea Avenue and Aupuni Street today.
The work will occur from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m., weather permitting.
According to the Department of Public Works, the upgrade will involve installing vehicle detection signals in the roadway and programming signals to improve traffic flow.
Crews will work on one approach at a time. The intersection will remain open.
The department advises motorists to expect delays and use alternate routes.
