The public is invited to state Sen. Kai Kahele’s town hall meeting Wednesday to discuss topics related to higher education.

The East Hawaii Higher Education Town Hall is set for 5-7 p.m. in University Classroom Building 100 at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.

The meeting kicks off Kahele’s statewide higher education tour in which he plans to visit all 10 campuses in the UH system. Kahele, a Democrat who represents Hilo, chairs the Senate Committee on Higher Education.

Wednesday’s meeting will include discussion about higher education leadership, enrollment, tuition, governance, athletics, student life and facilities, among other topics.
