Police have arrested a 43-year-old Pepeekeo man in connection with an Aug. 8 residential burglary in Ninole.
Michael Quevedo was arrested without incident Thursday morning in Honomu and later charged with first-degree burglary.
At Quevedo’s initial court appearance Friday, Hilo District Judge Dakota Frenz ordered Quevedo to return at 2 p.m. Monday for a preliminary hearing and confirmed his $25,000 bail.
Police say koa counter tops, a koa paddle, Hawaiian quilts, furniture, appliances and other household items were stolen from the home on Old Mamalahoa Highway.
Police said 33-year-old Eduardo Lopez Jr. of Hilo is also wanted for questioning in connection with the burglary.
He’s described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, 175 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He’s also wanted for questioning in an unrelated assault investigation and has three outstanding bench warrants, police said.
