Robert J. “RJ” Campbell Sr., 87, of Keaau died Aug. 13 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Watertown, N.Y., he was a private venture investor and management consultant, formerly employed by Link Group-General Precision Inc., Friden Inc., Bailey Controls Co., Bridgestone Management Group and a U.S. Air Force veteran. No services. Survived by wife, Clarita Campbell; sons, Robert (Marcia) Campbell Jr. and Stephen P. Campbell; hanai daughter, Julie (Lobrend) Bannister; brother, Keith A. Agnes Freitas Hunter, 87, of Tiga Cay, S.C., died Aug. 28 in Rock Hill, S.C. Born in Hilo, she was retired from the U.S. Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and a member of Beta Sigma Phi. Ernest James Jackson, 39, of Pahoa died Aug. 24 in Pahoa. He was a home builder and owner of Full Spectrum Home Improvements. Celebration of life 1-4 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 2) at Kalani Honua EMax building, 12-6860 Kalapana-Kapoho Road, Pahoa, followed by a lantern-sendoff on the Seaview Lawn. Joseph W.L. Whitney, 68, of Hilo died Aug. 17 at Kona Community Hospital.
