Roland Myles Vieira Sr., 80, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 9 in Vacaville, Calif. Born in Hilo, he was a retired high school teacher and coach, former deputy sheriff and police officer in Los Altos, Calif., U.S. Army Korean War veteran and commander of Chapter 279, Korean War Veterans.
