UPDATE Sept. 21, 7:39 a.m.: According to a police log, David Erlenbach was arrested at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday at Waiakea Villas in Hilo and booked on suspicion of kidnapping, attempted first-degree sexual assault, harassment by stalking terroristic threatening and domestic abuse.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in finding a 19-year-old Hilo man wanted for questioning in a kidnapping investigation involving an adult female.

David John Erlenbach is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, 170 pounds, brown eyes and black hair and is known to wear prescription-type eyeglasses. He has a Japanese symbol tattoo on his left shoulder and his date of birth tattooed in Roman numerals on his chest.
