UPDATE: Peter Fuerte was arrested in Captain Cook at 7:07 p.m. Tuesday, according to a police log. He was charged with two counts of contempt of court and booked on suspicion of resisting arrest.

The Kona police Special Enforcement Unit is seeking the public’s assistance with finding Peter E. Fuerte, a 50-year-old who frequents the South Kona and Ka‘u districts.

Fuerte is wanted for questioning in connection with an auto theft investigation and on multiple arrest warrants for contempt of court.

He’s described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 200 pounds and bald, with a mustache, beard and numerous tattoos on his arms and body.

Anyone with information about Fuerte’s whereabouts is asked to call the police nonemergency number at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
