Composition and cropping will be the featured topics at 6 p.m. Oct. 12 during the next meeting of the Hawaii Photo Shooters in Room D-202 at the Komohana Agriculture Research &Extension Center.

Club member Ken Jackson will talk about compositional rules, focusing on using frames, leading lines and symmetry. He also will discuss practicing, modifying or even breaking these rules to give new visual life to images.

Nancy Chaney’s presentation, “Creating Better Photographs Through Cropping,” is for those who struggle with in-camera composition.

Members and guests are invited to bring up to three uncropped images. Chaney then will demonstrate how she would crop them. In addition, Chaney will discuss how to back up images to the cloud.

The meeting is free and open to the public. The Komohana center is located at 875 Komohana St. For more information, visit www.hawaiiphotoshooters.com.
