The UH-Hilo women reached a high-water mark under soccer director Gene Okamura.
Kamehameha graduate Bryana-Marie Ebbers scored her fourth, Carlie Reader added a goal and an assist and Danika Steele and Astrid Perez scored for the first time this season Saturday as the Vulcans surged to a 4-0 victory against Hawaii Pacific in Honolulu.
The win was the most lopsided road win for UH-Hilo (6-3-1, 3-2-1 PacWest) under Okamura, who is in his second season, and it was the Vuls’ most lopsided road shutout victory since a 4-0 win at Holy Names in 2013.
Goalkeeper Jenna Hufford made five saves in recording her fourth shutout of the season, and her save percentage know ranks 16th nationally.
It was the third win in a row for the Vulcans, who moved into fourth place in the PacWest.
UH-Hilo avenged a 1-0 loss to the Sharks (6-4-1, 2-3-1) earlier this season in Keaau.
In the men’s game, Hawaii Pacific beat UHH 3-0, dropping the winless Vulcans to 0-6 in the PacWest.
