No injuries were reported after a fire at a Hilo restaurant Friday morning.
The Hawaii Fire Department responded at 6:30 a.m. to a fire alarm at Panda Express in Hilo.
Eight firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze within four minutes, said battalion chief Michael Hayashida.
The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire, Hayashida said.
Hayashida said the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but added that the fire only damaged the restaurant’s appliances, not the building itself.
