Tsukasa “Tsuka” Sugiyama, 92, of Laupahoehoe died Sept. 21 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Kaiakea, he was a retired mechanic for the Laupahoehoe and Hamakua sugar companies, member of Papaaloa Hongwanji Mission and veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
