Pahoa High softball fundraiser

Pahoa High softball fundraiser

The 2nd annual Pahoa High athletics softball tournament will be held Dec. 8-10 at Pahoa regional park.

Entry fee is $250. There are two divisions for men’s open and coed. All proceeds go to the Pahoa athletic department.

CrossFit All-Star

Roundup in Waimea CrossFit All-Star in Waimea will host its sixth annual two-day All-Star Roundup event on Nov. 11-12.

The event is still looking for athletes to participate in multiple divisions, including Open (Rx), Scaled and Masters.

Beanie Heen Paddle Race

The Beanie Heen Paddle Race will be held Saturday, Nov. 25 at Surf Park in Kawaihae, near the breakwall.

All vessels are welcomed to participate in the 7-mile course.

Registration is at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 9 a.m.

IKL Karate Championship

The 13th annual IKL Karate Championship will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Kealakehe High School Gymnasium. The event is hosted by the Kona Branch of the International Karate League.

IKL Branches from Hilo, Paauilo, Honokaa, Waimea, North Kohala, Waikoloa, Captain Cook, Kailua-Kona, Pahala, Keaau, Oahu and California will be attending the event.

A special guest, the Founder and Chief Instructor of the IKL, Shihan (Master) Walter K. Nishioka, who splits his time between Hawaii and the mainland, will be presiding over the event.

The tournament will feature competition in Kata (forms), Kumite (sparring), and Kobudo (weaponry) for children, teenagers and adults.
