The Hawaii Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that killed a person and caused $210,000 to a Kailua-Kona home early Friday morning.
According to a written fire department statement, 12 units responded to the 6:10 a.m. alarm with the first unit arriving on scene at 73-1083 Oluolu St. seven minutes later.
The two-story home was found fully engulfed in flames, with the fire located in the rear of the house. The blaze appeared to have started downstairs.
The victim was not identified in the media release and no others were reported hurt or missing.
