U.S. Coast Guard personnel found a 51-year-old man who had been reported missing dead in the water early Monday morning about 1.5 miles off Kailua pier.
U.S. Coast Guard personnel found a 51-year-old man who had been reported missing dead in the water early Monday morning about 1.5 miles off Kailua pier.
He was identified as Richard Reikowski of South Carolina. His body was discovered at about 1:39 a.m.
Reikowski was reported missing early Sunday evening after he went to Old Kona Airport Beach at about 4 p.m.. He was last seen heading into the water and family members reported him missing after they were unable to find him.
Police say there were no visible injuries on the body and foul play is not suspected.
An autopsy will be done.
