Jordyn Pacheco tallied a hat trick and an assist Wednesday in Pahala, and Hilo needed one half of play to earn a 9-0 victory against Ka’u in a BIIF girls soccer match.
Kiana Corpuz scored twice with an assist, Alyeemomi Amaral added a goal and two assists, and Nanea Moke-Rabang, Samantha Chung and Hollie Saplan each scored once.
Goalkeeper Saydee Bacdad was credited with her third consecutive shutout.
Boys
Kohala 5, Ka’u 0: The Cowboys continued their strong start, winning in Pahala to improve to 3-0-1.
Konawaena 3, Pahoa 0: The Wildcats won at home to run their record to 2-0-1.
KCAA T-Ball/ Pitchball registration ongoing
The Kohala Community Athletic Association is accepting free registration for T-Ball/ pitchball and boys basketball through Dec. 18.
Registration can be done online at KCAA.online.
T-Ball/pitchball practice for girls and boys ages 5-8 begins in early January. Basketball practice for boys ages 9-11 begins in early January.

Waiakea keiki run
Waiakea High’s 12th annual Healthy Keiki Fun Run will take place on Saturday on campus. The fun run is for grades K-6 and is a 1,500 meter course. This event consists of a run, health fair and carnival games.
