Sheldon Teruki Hayashi, 67, of Hilo died Dec. 5 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he was an operations supervisor for the state Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife and member of Hilo Meishoin Buddhist Temple, Kuikahi softball team and Lincoln Wreckers Athletic Club. Visitation 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 21) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 5 p.m. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Aileen Hayashi of Hilo; sons, Eric (Barian Buyuan) Hayashi and Brandon Hayashi of Hilo; sisters, Jane (Lawrence) Okazaki and Cora (Harold) Ito of Hilo, Kate (Stuart) Doi of Honolulu; mother-in-law, Miyome Tanaka of Hilo; brothers-in-law, Rodney (Pauline) Tanaka of Hilo and Raymond Matsuda of Pearl City, Oahu; sister-in-law, Christine Wakida of Hilo.
