AJA baseball: Hirata’s four hits power Corsairs to victory

Devon Hirata collected four hits and drove in five runs Sunday as the Corsairs beat Big Island Wooden Bat Academy 7-5 in Hawaii AJA Memorial League baseball play at Walter Victor Stadium.

Chris Hatakenaka-Gibbs added three hits and Cody Hirata earned the win for the Corsairs (2-1). Devon Hirata finished with two doubles and a triple.

Stone Miyao and Russell Ili each had two hits for BIWBA (0-3) and Edward Oguma Jr. was the losing pitcher.

Earlier, Onan Masaoka pitched the Pirates past the Warriors 3-1. Kegan Miura and Aiden Ah Hee each had two hits for the Pirates (3-0). Alton Penrose banged out two hits for the Warriors (1-2). Mikey Inaba took the loss.
