Kazuma Taguchi, 99, of Hilo died Dec. 1 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Waikapu, Maui, he was a retired truck driver and freight expeditor for Hilo Transportation &Terminal, member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Nohea Street Kumiai, U.S. Army World War II veteran of Co. B, 100th Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team and recipient of Congressional Gold Medal and French Foreign Legionnaire Medal. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Yasuko “Millie” Taguchi of Hilo; son, Glenn (Lita) Taguchi of Hilo; daughter, Shelley (Lance) Santo of Honolulu; brother, Sueichi Taguchi of Las Vegas; sisters, Doris Tanimoto, Betty Cerritelli and Mitsue Goya of California; sister-in-law, Hifumi Taguchi of Waikapu; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
