Miwako “Mix” Cooperrider, 88, of Kent, Ohio, died Jan. 6 at University Hospitals Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Hilo, she was a retired director of Kent State University Herbarium, artist, member of Sigma Xi honorary scientific society and life member of The Nature Conservancy.
