T.J. Maxx representatives handed out applications Thursday at the store’s future location at Prince Kuhio Plaza as contractors prepared for a grand opening next month.
Staff said they were not authorized to speak to a reporter, but mall manager Daniel Kea said the off-price retail outlet will open its doors to customers March 15. He said 100 people were being hired.
T.J. Maxx is one of two businesses entering the former Sports Authority location, which closed in 2016. The other, Petco, is looking at an April opening, Kea said.
He said T.J. Maxx will continue to accept applications at the mall from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
