Born in Hilo, he was a retired lieutenant from the Hawaii Police Department, former member of the Hawaii Army National Guard and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou and Aloha Council Boy Scouts of America. Peter Groth Madsen, 87, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 31 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, he was a retired community college teacher. Private services.
