Police are asking the public for information related to the theft late last year of a backhoe belonging to the state Highways Division from the northbound shoulder of Volcano Highway (Route 11) near the 18-mile marker in Glenwood.
The New Holland backhoe, valued at about $35,000, was taken between the late afternoon of Dec. 4 and the early morning of Dec. 5.
Anyone with information about the theft or the current location of the backhoe is asked to call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
