Men
The skinny: The UH-Hilo men’s golf team shot five strokes better Tuesday but remained 12th of 16 teams at Bay Area Invitational in Livermore, Calif.
The Vulcans’ Taylor Patrick closed with a 79 in the final round to finish at 22-over 238 and tied for 31st. Jared Kinoshita (79) was 27-over, Warren Miller (84) was 31-over, Preston Lee-Ching (79) was another shot back and Ryan Roodzant (97) struggled with a 275.
UHH came in at 112-over, 70 shots behind first-place Sonoma State.
Holy Names’ Zach Sims carded a one-shot win at 222.
