Waimea traffic might be disrupted next week as the county Highway Maintenance Division resurfaces a stretch of Kamamalu Street.

Workers will resurface the quarter-mile stretch of Kamamalu Street from Mamalahoa Highway to Kamanawa Street from Monday until Wednesday, weather permitting.

According to a statement from the county Department of Public Works, at least one lane of traffic will remain open at all times during the project. However, drivers are advised to expect delays and watch for heavy machinery as alternating lane closures will be in effect.

Police officers will be on scene to direct traffic.
