A widespread cable outage left Spectrum Hawaii customers in East Hawaii without cable television, internet and home telephone service Thursday night and Friday morning.
Spectrum didn’t answer specific questions from the Tribune-Herald today about how many customers were affected and how long service was interrupted.
Instead, company spokeswoman Pamela Yu provided the following emailed statement from the communications provider:
“Unfortunately due to a vehicular accident that cut our fiber, some customers in Hilo, Makuu and Pahoa areas lost services yesterday. Our engineers worked tirelessly to restore all services early this morning, and we appreciate our customers’ patience while we made the necessary repairs.”
