Chieko “Jane” Alatan, 89, of Pepeekeo died Feb. 19 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a retired papaya packer for the former Ono Pac and member of The House Hilo Church, Pepeekeo Senior Citizens Club and Lanakila-Haaheo FCE. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday (March 24) at The House Hilo Church, 2282 Kanoelehua Ave. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Felicidad “Fely” Gacusan Andres, 79, of Hilo died Feb. 9 at home. Born in Candon, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a retired factory worker for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Lily Anna Cariaga, 79, of Pahala died Feb. 25 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pahala, she was a coordinator for the Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council, member of numerous Hawaiian civic organizations and sat on several state and county boards and commissions. Memorial service and celebration of life 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at Punaluu Beach Park pavilion. No flowers; monetary gifts welcome.
