The Pahoa skate park’s 10-year anniversary celebration will take place today after being delayed earlier this month.
McLean Eames, president of the nonprofit Friends of Pahoa Skate Park, said the event will start at 8 a.m. A plaque honoring Ginny Aste, one of the early champions of building the facility, will be dedicated at 9:30 a.m.
The park will then be known as Pahoa Ginny Aste Skatepark.
That will be followed by a “skate jam,” where skaters in different age groups will be able to show off their skills.
