According to a news release from the county Department of Parks and Recreation, the park’s restroom facilities were shut down after the cover for the park’s water catchment system was discovered to have been stolen.
In addition, damage to the tank was discovered, and the water system might have been contaminated.
Facilities at the park will reopen when the system is repaired and the water is determined to be safe.
In the meantime, anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact police at 935-3311. Anyone who notices other acts of vandalism at a county park is encouraged to inform the Department of Parks and Recreation at 961-8311.
