Denise Lynn Bowers, 55, of Kailua-Kona died April 16 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Puyallup, Wash., she was a retired administrative assistant for Boeing, youth leader and mentor for Future Business Leaders of America, member of the American Diabetic Association and outdoor enthusiast. Private services. Memorial donations to American Diabetic Association. Survived by mother, Margaret Bowers of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Mark (Peggy) Bowers and Jeffery (Lori) Bowers of Washington, Paul (Valerie Crosby) Bowers of Arizona; nieces and nephews. Dorothy Jean “Jeannie” Brooks, 83, of Hawaiian Paradise Park, formerly of Contra Costa County, Calif., died Dec. 14 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired U.S. Postal Service mail carrier, who loved dancing, especially square dancing and hula. She danced for Johnny Lum Ho’s Halau O Ka Ua Kani Lehua and performed at Hawaiian Paradise Park Senior Center. Celebration of life 4 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at Christian Fellowship Church of Hawaii, aka “Home Church,” 15-1560 12th Ave. in Hawaiian Paradise Park. Aloha attire; flowers welcome and can be sent to Home Church. She was interred at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Hilo. Survived by husband, Glenn Bobbie Brooks Sr. of Hawaiian Paradise Park; son, Glenn B. Theodore Shigeki Ishii, 91, of Los Angeles, formerly of Honomu, died March 26 at Kei-Ai Los Angeles Healthcare Center. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. Celebration of life May 19 in Los Angeles with burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo. Survived by wife, Etsuko (Shishido) Ishii from Olaa; son, Darryl Ken (Yolanda) Ishii of Hilo; daughters, Dayle (Harvey) Funai of Seattle and Debby Ann (James) Uyeda of Los Angeles; sister, Ethel (Ishii) Chong of Hilo; nine grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Christopher Robert Kapua-Allison, 50, of Mountain View died April 8 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a Hawaii Police Department officer, member of Hui Maka‘i and Blue Knights motorcycle club, former officer for the Department of Defense at Pearl Harbor and former motorcoach operator for Robert’s Hawaii.
