Police ID man killed in Laupahoehoe crash

Police have identified the man who died when his pickup truck collided with a tandem tanker truck Wednesday on Highway 19 in Laupahoehoe as 40-year-old Joseph H. Wolf of Kailua-Kona.

Wolf’s death is the 8th official traffic fatality this year compared to 7 at this time last year.

The tanker driver, a 42-year-old Keaau man, was not seriously injured.

Witnesses to the crash are asked to call the police non-emergency line at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
