Waiakea seeks air riflery coach
Waiakea High is accepting applications for an air riflery head coach for the 2018-19 season.
Applications can be picked up from the school’s main office during regular business hours, and they are due by June 15.

Boys & girls club fundraiser
The Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island will host its 12 annual Tee Off for Kids Golf Tournament fundraiser on June 16 at Mauna Lani’s South Course.
The deadline to enter is Friday.
Gold-level sponsors and up are invited to a pretournament golfing at Kohanaiki. All sponsors are welcome to attend a pupus and cocktail party. Both events are June 15.

Basketball camp set for Waimea
The DNA Basketball Academy will hold a summer camp from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. June 1-3 at Waimea District Park for boys and girls ages 9-18.
According to its website, “If basketball is in your DNA, this is the place to be.”
The camp will feature skill development stations, plyometric training, leadership development, 5-on-5 games and player evaluation.
Former Honokaa High and UH-Hilo coach Daphne Homna is among the clinicians.
The fee is $75.

Special Olympics golf season set
The Special Olympics East Hawaii golf season will begin June 15, with practices every Friday at Naniloa Golf Course in what is the program’s 11th season.
A golf tournament will be held Aug. 26th.
All returning and new athletes are encouraged to sign up at www.golftreasures.net.

Baldwin climbs
Waiakea High’s baseball team finished second in the state, and the Warriors can take solace that Hawaii’s No. 1 team is one of the best in the nation,
State champion Baldwin rose six spots in the USA Today Super 25 rankings, moving to No. 10.
The Bears, who beat Waiakea for the state title, moved up from No. 16.
