About 11,700 Hawaii Electric Light Co. customers lost electricity Thursday when an albizia tree fell on a power line.
HELCO spokeswoman Rhea Lee-Moku said the tree was being cut by a tree trimmer on private land and fell the wrong way at 9:59 a.m.
About 10 minutes later, lines were switched and power was restored to about 8,100 customers.
The outage ended at 12:56 p.m.
