Agnes Noelani “Nessie” Kaipo, 72, of Papaikou died Aug. 19 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a retired hairdresser with the former Glen “V” Reflections Hair Salon. Services at a later date. Survived by husband, Clarence C. “Sai” Kaipo Jr. of Papaikou; sons, Clarence C. (Donna R.) Kaipo III of Hilo, Konrad K. (Traci Tsuha) Kaipo Sr. of Kaumana and Meyers K. (Jessica) Kaipo of Papaikou; brothers, Matthew McBride of Seattle and John K. James Henry Michael, 54, of Mountain View died Aug. 30 at home. Born in Brookhaven, N.Y., he was a heavy equipment operator for a quarry, beekeeper and loved his cocker spaniel ohana. Masayo “Marco” Nagao, 95, of Hilo died Aug. 25 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired Realtor. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Richard Paglinawan Sr., 77, of Hilo died Aug. 21 at home. Born in Hilo, he was retired from the state Department of Education, formerly employed by Hawaiian Airlines, a U.S. Navy veteran and member of Elks Club and National Rifle Association. Visitation 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Gaspro, a truck driver for SK Ota Construction, Yamada and Sons and the former Mauna Kea Sugar Co., a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
