The Rotary Club of Hilo Bay recently donated $5,000 to the Hawaii Science and Technology Museum, a nonprofit dedicated to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education on Hawaii Island.
The Rotary Club of Hilo Bay recently donated $5,000 to the Hawaii Science and Technology Museum, a nonprofit dedicated to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education on Hawaii Island.
The museum is very active in the community, providing science camps, exhibits, after-school programs and special events to promote STEM education for Hawaii Island students in grades K-12. The gift to HSTM from the Rotary Club of Hilo Bay is being used to host several “Science Nights” at schools and venues to bring families together for an educational evening of fellowship and fun.
“The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace and throughout the world, and the Rotary Club of Hilo Bay is very active in providing this service to the people of Hawaii Island” said HSTM Executive Director Christian Wong. “We are incredibly grateful for this support from the Rotary Club of Hilo Bay, we could not offer these services to our students without help from our many partners that share our vision of wanting to see our local students reach as high as they possibly can.”
